I need to know this too. I gave up on my Wolf Noah. Great cover for dust but worthless in rain for outdoor use.

I've got a Wolf too and it sucks. I think it may be breaking down though, as it leaves dust particles all over the car every time I use it. I think it is fibers from the cover.

To fix the dust issue you must simply hand wash it with water and air dry it. What I used to do is lay it out flat across several foldable tables and rinse it down with a garden hose then flip it over and repeat. Then I would let it air dry. I would do this on a hot sunny day. This really cleans up the cover nicely and eliminates dusting issues. Don't use anything to scrub it.

I washed mine 3 times with no change. I think the "dust" is particles from the material the cover is made out of.

Hand or machine wash? How did you dry it?

Both. I let it air dry. I think it's just a crappy cover that's the problem.

You're not supposed to machine was or dry those. It ruins the fabric. I did it to my first one and saw it first hand. Sounds like you need to replace it afterall.

I hand washed it first. And when that didn't work. I put it in the washer. But it doesn't matter. It did it when new.

Yeah mine sucks too. It's dirtier when I use the cover than when I don't.

That california cover looks like a good true "waterproof" option. I wouild expect to pay over $200 for a quailty cover like that but it would definate be worth it for outdoor storage for guys with no garage.

CE1 what was your cost? Looks like a good direct fit too not a universal fit.

Unfortunately some of the covers seen in catalogs claim to be "waterproof" and suitable for outdoor use which they are to a certain extent. But when it comes to a heavy rain they fail miserably which makes it somewhat misleading when shopping for one.

So the California cover is one true waterproof cover. Any others?

I've had mine for over a year from CarsCover.com

Waterproof and supposed to have UV protection. It was on sale for 100.00. It's not the custom fitted cover. It has given me no trouble.

I think I saw a fitted cover for around $100 in a Mid America catalogue. It had some kind of zipper for the driver door so I guess you can get in the car without having to remove the cover.

Right now the Superweave is going for about $320. Ours is 5 yrs old and still doing fine, clean and shiny in clean and shiny out. This is not totally water proof, it is meant to allow any moisture under it to dry and we have never had a problem and as you can see we put it to the test.

With the snow sitting on your car like that does any water soak through the cover and onto the car? Basically does the car remain completely dry underneath is what I'm asking.

It would seem that if a cover is truly waterproof then it could not be breathable so we can't have both. I need a cover that will keep the vette dry underneath after a heavy rain. It sucks spending hours detailing it to an immaculate shine only for rain to ruin it.

Like I said..clean and shiny in, clean and shiny out. It keeps most of the water out but allows any remaining moisture to dry. Have cleaned and waxed it before putting it away and in spring comes out the same way. Never any problems with it. Is machine washable and dryer safe, just follow instructions. Is a custom fit for yr and options. Checkout the website and see what it says. We sold and will buy again when needed. If its completely water proof it would hold the moisture in as well as out. Our $.02.
