Since you're still in college, maybe you want to re-think spending a whole bunch of $$$ on your car. By the time you're done with either gears or headers, you've spend more than pocket change - both are $$. Is it really worth it to save a few 10ths of a second? Save your big money for the day you have to fix something, because that day is coming. Meanwhile, maybe spend some bucks on a full detailing or some tools.

Enjoy the ride.

Longtube headers ain't cheap, but the 3.07 third member (differential with gear, ready to go) are pretty affordable. Check the "C4 Parts Section". Should be able to get both for less than a grand. (And yes, they're worth it.)

You can watch e bay and craigs list for parts.
On the headers look for thick flanges , powder coating and bungs for oxygen sensors if needed !
Get quality washabe high flow air filter and modify air box if applacable and 3.08 gears are not enough to make much difference in speed but would affect gas milage .

I recomend keeping a DD stock and when you can afford it build a weekend warrior for track and cruse.
In Texas a contest of speed will get you and your car in jail .
Check local laws cause it's spreading .
Tracks are a lot more fun !
