For years I've always carried a collection of tools for non-towtruck problems.

For this car I pack a spare serpentine belt with a 1/2" breaker bar to install it, 10mm socket and ratchet for the airbox bottom plate, some flare wrenches for loose fuel tube connections, a fuse and wiring kit with stripper, pliers and connectors, blade and Philips screwdrivers, led flashlight, clean rags, a pack of nitrate gloves, six foot tarp to lay/kneel on, and a cell phone for the tow jobs!

(not to forget is a 1911 tool for breakdown security )

With my back problems, all I carry in my cars is a can of fix a flat, my AAA card, my cell phone, & as above, a breakdown security tool, but in my case its either my Sig P220, my S&W mod 66, or my new XDM 3.8 in 9mm.

No spare tire, no break down kit, no tools. Just my MIND! If anything ever happened bad enough where I needed a tool.... I would rather just get it towed to my home where I can properly fix the issue

Around home I don't pack anything.

On a trip I throw in my Craftsman 120 piece tool kit with assorted torx drivers pliers and screw drivers.

Oh, and a pack of beer

I carry the tools I would need to replace the battery, and what's needed to lift the ECM so that I can get to the clutch master cylinder reservoir. Also a small flashlight, a Leatherman, and a small DVM. That's about it, normally, as these cars have so little cargo space.

I also stash a small, unopened bottle of brake fluid in the free space next to the coolant overflow reservoir, so that I can avoid calling a tow truck if the clutch master runs dry. It has very little reserve capacity, and having the car towed for this reason alone would leave me feeling stupid.

Live well,

SJW

Of all the things "likely" to break on a car, a serpentine belt is very far down on the list. I've never had one fail. They will last for many thousands of miles, so just replace it every few years.

Same here. I will carry a very small tool box on my week long road trips, but not sure how much I could actually fix if the car broke down.
Cell phone, credit card and keeping up with maintenance before the trip works for me.

I doubt I could fix something that broke either unless it's a simple thing because without the part it wouldn't do much good anyway. But hey we have our tools don't we

Thus the reason for the beer

Wasn't there a thread a while ago with some guy that drove around with basically an entire car's worth of spare parts including spark plugs and wires?

There was a thread like this one few years ago but, it was about all we carry in the center console

Tool I carry in the Vette under normal circumstances, a Leatherman and a 5/16 for the battery.

With these cars, it's either that plus floor jack, stands and a 280 pc tool set- or AAA/Cell. I choose the latter.

Cell phone and credit card. I can call for a tow truck and order a pizza if it's going to take too long.

Called a tow... And walked to Dominos down the road and had a pie until the tow came

Permanent equipment:

A small air pump, green slime, radial tire plugs & plug tools in the well next to the coolant recovery bottle.

A wire hook to pull on the home made hood release cables, battery terminal wrench, led flashlight & a throw away fire extinguisher in the right storage bin.

For road trips:

I fill an old brief case with whatever I deem necessary including a belt. On one occasion (non Vette) a rock or some kind of road debris caused 1/2 of the belt to shred. Luckily two ribs were uneffected & I was able to make it home.

How about just towing a parts car with all your tools in it.
