Ok guys i did some searching on here and seems to be that i have a plugged heater core. Just to double check here are my symptoms.
Both cars are 1993 with auto climate control. My daily driver has heat but its very weak. Blows air fine, its just luke warm (not hot at all car runs between 192-196*F range). No signs of a bad heater core: damp windshield, passenger carpet etc. I've read that the guys are flushing the core with a garden hose, how are they doing that?
Second car, same thing but the heat is even weaker, more thread searching has lead me to believe i should remove something in the evap box to see if the door is opening or closing first. (again no signs of a bad heater core with this car and it drives at the 199-208*F range?)
Neither car is leaking or burning coolant.
I do only have a chilton's manual for these cars so any help would be appreciated!
Heres a question for you i was doing some more searching came up with alot of conflicting "burping" procedures. less then a week of owning the car i blew my upper radiator hose. After i installed a new one i burped it the old fashion way, letting the car run and continuously topping off the coolant tank as the thermostat opened and closed. My coolant level hasnt changed at all since ive done this 4 months ago (im **** about my cars so i check things all the time) so im assuming that i burped the car correctly, and that it should just need the heater core flushed. But since ill be draining the coolant to do that, is that the correct way to burp these cars?
When I add coolant I fill the tank up with the engine off. When the tank is full I start the engine and let it run it though the system and keep filling it up until the tank is full.
