On Friday 4/5 I was going from the KC area to DFW down US 69. About 6 hours into the trip I was just getting into the north side of McAlester, OK. when I came up on a white 89 (the plates said so). When I passed, we both waved. A few seconds later, he is sitting off my right side and when I look over at him he motions that he wants to stop for a drink. OK, my butt is numb by this time and the offer sounds pretty good.
I thought we would be heading for a local place in town, but I end up following him over to his place. When I pull into his drive I am looking at the back end of a beautiful 82 Blue Vette. We introduced ourselves and went inside where I accepted his offer and we talked. Turns out he is the pres. of the local club and has Vette stuff all over his rec room.
I want to thank Don Johnson (like Miami Vice), Casper on the forum, for his hospitality. A very nice gesture from one Vette owner to another on a long trip. This is what being in this hobby should be all about.
Are you implying that Corvette drivers are strange? If it was anything other than a Vette I probably wouldn't have followed him. Besides, if I have to worry about everything I don't think life would be worth living. I made it thru VN and bypass surgery so everything else is a plus.... :chevy
