I know this is off topic but wondered what you guys thought. I have 03 Chrysler Town and Country van 3.8 liter with 111,000 on the clock (DD). I changed the transmission filter and fluid today and now it seems to have and somewhat abrupt downshift from 3 to 2 when slowing down. I've verified the fluid is full. The only thing I can think of is the new filter was a cheap brand I've never heard of and not Mopar. Could that be the culprit? Generally speaking, I tend to get oem original parts (especially the vette) but they didn’t have Mopar, I was in a hurry so I settled.

Thanks,

I can only say I seriously doubt a filter could be the problem. Possible that the old filter was so clogged, fresh fluid now getting through better and you were just used to the old way the car felt?
I think I found the answer. Based on what I've read googling the Tranmission Control Module need to have a "quick learn" sequence ran on it. From what I can gather, the filter change has radically changed the parameters in the tranny and the TCM needs to relearn them. Also, from what I can tell, it seems to be something that has to be done at a dealership. Anyone have experience with this?
