Default Sound system upgrade - power source?

I am wanting to put an amp in one of the rear storage wells. Where is the best place to pull power from that provides adequate amperage and will shut off when the ignition is off?

I know I could run a new line from the fuse box, but I would rather not... if I don't have to!

Depends on how much power your going to draw. But there are power and switch on/off power in rear compartment behind passanger seat. I placed a small 300 watt amp no problem, but once I replaced that with 800 watt amp I was having problems.

There is a harness that plugs into the Bose Amp in rear compartment. It has speaker wires and Color wires (red/Power, Black/Ground and Blue/switch/antenna) do not use Yellow for switch as I originally did and it never swtched off my amp draining my battery a few times.

Also I have a 94, but I think its the same, Did you have Bose system?
I do recommend straight line to battery if your running amps for Subs though..

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, I have the Bose system... for now! As far as the power, I am not looking to get any "disturbing the peace" violations!

His CDM is in the dash isn't it? I have a 1990 and that is it's location however I know they relocated it later at some point.

After doing some searching (yeah I know I should have done that first!), I found a post where someone said they had to remove the passenger seat and rails just to get to the CDM box in '91!

Maybe running new power lines from the fuse box isn't such a bad idea after all!

getting to the CDM is easier then getting to the backside of the fusebox
