Got a question

Do I really need to put the Coolant Pump Pully Vibration Damper back on?

I had many cars that never had this 5lb wieght on the water pump.
I have a new water pump on it.

You are describing what is known here as a "Frisbee" . Actually it was added to damp the A/C Compressor load. You can "toss" it without any problems.

OK Thank you for the reply. As I install the new lifter and put everything back together Ill toss the "Frisbee" away.

Correct! I think I had my vette for 3 days before mine came off, and that was a year ago. No problems whatsoever.
