Reference: '94 LT1. What does your OIL PRESSURE GAUGE read under these conditions? 1) Engine off/cold; 2) normal driving; & 3) ecceleration (40 t0 60 mph). Also, does the needle fluctuate back & forth during low & high speeds? Thanks
"normal driving" is quite variable. What speed and RPM
is "normal"?
On my '87, a small change in RPM can produce a
noticeable change in oil pressure.
1600 RPM (63ish) is about 50 PSI.
1800 RPM (71ish) is about 53 PSI.
1900 RPM (75ish) is it jumps to 59 PSI.
All of this well warmed up on a cool day, Castrol 5W30.
