Cap to rotor gap inside Optispark?
I just got a new Optispark dist. ,(my 3rd so far) and was checking it out before install. Just out of curiosity I measured the gap from cap post to rotor tip. I measured a whopping .120" [one hundred and twenty thousands]!! I got an old rotor and measured it against the new rotor and they are the same. Don't have an old cap around to measure though. That makes me think maybe the new cap has excessive clearance to the terminal posts, or are they all like that? Any body else ever measured theirs? with the additional gap at the plugs, that is quite a chasm for the spark to jump!
