Gonna need more information than what you list to even make a guess.
But with over 200k miles, it's not worth a whole lot.

Auto will have an LT1 engine
6-Speed will have an LT4 engine, and be worth slightly more.

The condition and maintenance of the car will play a significant part in setting the price.

Don't let the CE (Collector Edition) part fool you.
It's not rare, as they produced more CE's than any other model for '96.

Oh, you are so right !! Looks to be in good shape. There is a 6987 buy it now. Of course, guy doesn't know about opti ( and I don't know much ). If you have a chance go over to ebay and look. There is even a you tube video. He had 330 hp on the auto and someone corrected him to 300hp. I have been looking at C4s for six long , intense weeks. I found a 93 green with 99000 miles for 7990 on autotrader. I sold my 68 L36 numbers match because the cost was high for maintenance. And, I sunk a boat load of $ in it. I would like a ( honestly ) great 92-96, clean and not have to spend alot of money. Thanks for the reply and if you get over that way ( ebay or autotrader ) let me know what you think.

I have a 94 with 70K less mile I would be happy to get that price. keep on looking. and I am confused on how you can say a 68 with a L36 cost too much for maintenance.

Beautiful cars, (one of my favorites) but not especially sought after. They usually get some attention about auction time. They are all over down here with half those miles for $8-$10k (and not selling). That car, I think has been on there quite a bit, and has "sold" several times. Ebay prices are 30%-50%high, basically just a bunch of dealers or players bidding on each others cars that they can't move locally, looking for that one sucker. That car anywhere over $5000 should tell you how crooked that place is.

Maintenance is not the correct word. I should say putting it to NOS was expensive. Down to every last detail. Had it for 9 years. I liked the 68 , but found some parts were hard to find. Always was told that the first year of the generation was always the hardest to maintain. After the third year of ownership, I would agree. It wasn't like you went to autozone and grabbed a part. Not that you would want to. I will keep looking and will keep asking questions.

Had that gut feeling that something was amiss. Seeing how I have found a whole lot less miles in the same price range. The one on autotrader at 7990 with 99000, has me intrigued. 93 and by the pics looks good. I love the polo green and light interior. Was thinking of offering 7000 or 7200. All he can say is no. Any thoughts??

I am thinking that price is a little high in this market and economy

Do you ever get on autotrader? 93 polo green 7990 in Illinois. I am thinking of calling him today. Would 6500 be a fair offer. This is my first venture into C4s. Been looking for 6 weeks and a couple have slipped through my fingers. Would you laugh at a 1400 dollar drop?

6500 would be a fair price for a car with that many miles

Be patient. Depending on where you live, most of the really good ones have probably been put away for the winter. Wait until spring and you'll have a much bigger selection to look at.
