Default Winter storm

When is Spring? Won't be driving the vette anytime soon. Couldn't get it out if I wanted to. (cover hasn't came in yet, STS/DD gets the garage)

Yesterday! Today, more of the same.

I just got a phone call from my supervisor, don't have to go in today as the mail trucks didn't make it from des moines to ft dodge But I know tomorrow's going to be a killer day. We got very fortunate up around here....just a few inches and winds. Can't imagine what those poor souls out east are going through today.

We didn't get the major snow they first predicted down here in Rolla.
We did get about 4 inches of sleet, and then 3-4 inches of snow on top of that.

So, it is not real easy getting around. But the wind and cold is making it much worse.
Kind of dead here at work today, since most people are afraid to try and get out in it.

Where I work is located just off the interstate (I-44) and there is a Love's truck stop at this exit.
Since I-44 is still closed from Springfield to Joplin, there are plenty of trucks starting to pile up here.

Current temp: 9° F.
Supposed to go to -10° F. overnight
If I didn't know better, I would think we were in Canada.

Hey Sargent,
What model is your tractor? I have B2320 and love it. I do remove the deck though.

From what I can tell I got somewhere between 18 and 20 inches on top of the ice we got Monday night.

They shut down the University yesterday and today. I imagine they'll open tomorrow but maybe 30% of the people will be able to get to work.

Last fall I decided not to take the mower off my Kubota because I "thought" we wouldn't get enough snow that it would be a problem. I'm thinking now I'll take it off next year just in case, as it's a little difficult trying to plow snow this deep with it on.

It's a B3200, I really like it. I was going to remove the deck but we generally don't get this much snow where it's an issue.

I have learned my lesson.

Wife and I were talking last night about "why" we didn't get hit so bad.

Monday, we spent a few hours preparing for it all.
I got the generator out of the shed, and spent an hour airing up the flat tires, filling it with fuel and getting it started.
Then found 3 or 4 small propane camping lights, and got out several extension cords.

She spent 3 or 4 hours cleaning house (I laughed, wrong thing to do), doing laundry and getting food ready that we could heat up on camping stove if needed.

She declared us "ready" for the storm.
Then I said, you watch it will miss us now.

I didn't take it to serious because around here they play drama with weather forecasts.

But when they closed the University on Monday for Tuesday, I said, Uh oh. Better stop and get beer, this may be bad

Yep, i'm feeling everyone's pain here. We got 6 inches of snow from yesterdays storm, cleared that last night after work, all the walks driveways and in front of my house where the plows thankfully deposit the snow as they go by, patted myself on the back for a job well done.

Woke up 5am this morning to find another 4 inches of snow with a solid inch of ice on top. Guess what i'll be doing after work today Just need to find a place to put it now, i've got about 30 inches of snow all around my property.

Me and my wife scooped snow 4 times yesterday so it wouldn't pile up. I would hate to see it if we didn't

And that's my problem as well, trying to find a place to put it. I have the room, but pushing it all out of the way takes some doing with the mower still on.

Yep, I feel foolish.
