2021 C4 of the Year - Unmodified Finalist

dash swap

There is a fellow that has a fully tricked out 88 cpe. He wants to swap a 90 or later swept dash , doors and console????

Sounds like a hell of a lotta work to me but he's up to it.

Question is is it do-able?? Any suggestions.

I should post some pix of his car!

You can do it, but it's a lot of work.

You may need to fabricate some mounts. I'm not sure about that though since I haven't done it.

Someone who has may chime in.

Almost anything can be do for $ and time. The thing here is will it be worth it. Good luck if you go for it. Post pic,s as you go should be fun.....

First question should be. Jeff would you do this again ? A large amount of time and money but as they say at most shops of course that can be done its just gonna cost more.

I have installed a 94 dash into an 86. I had a donor 94 so I did a complete swap.

86 bare dash

86 with 94 firewall and upper metal installed

complete dash installed

My 85 has a full new style interior installed in it. For the most part, things work, however some stuff, just reads 0.... IE:instant fuel mileage reads 0...... I dont know if its shotty work or if everything just does not mesh up....

WOW! Thanks for the info, input and links. That's certainly going to give him something to think about.

Sure seems like toooo much work to me, but the guy seems to be a brute for punishment judgeing by what he's done to the car so far. He palns on winning some SERIOUS bling on the show circuit.
