Default front plate cover

Can anyone suggest the proper method for removing the front license plate cover on a 1995 corvette?? I looked in the owners manual for a picture or diagram showing the removal procedure.....I don't want to bend and break the body cover to install my front plate.

There's 2 torx screws on the top that need to come out.

My 93 has the screws at the bottom, the top has two tabs that slide into slots.

Push the cover up slightly with the palm of your hand and you'll see the screws. You'll need a very thin driver to keep from scratching the paint.

Not that you asked. 87, two tabs at the top, two screws at the bottom. Mine are Phillips head screws but I might have lost the original and replaced them in the last 20 years.

84 - 90 has two tabs on top & two screw holes on the bottom only.

91 - 96 has holes in the two top tabs & two holes on the bottom.

I have a '95 and mine is original. It has two torx screws on the bottom and two tabs on the top. The screws on the bottom align with two of the letters on the cover, I forget which ones, but you can see them with a flashlight shining in the space between the cover and the body.

My plate is behind the cover just in case.

This is a timely question/answer as I have to install my front plate. In California they've raised the cost of all citations and i can't afford the ticket.
