Default Question about wheel offset

I have a 1995 base Corvette. I'm looking to go with 17x9.5 wheels up front and 17x11 in back and eventually want to lower the car. I've seen offsets for the 17x9.5 listed as 56, 54,50. I've seen the offsets for the 17x11 as 50 and 36.

The latest wheels I am looking at have an offset of 50mm for both the 17x9.5 and 17x11. And from what I've mostly seen, tires for the front would be 285 40/17 and the rear would be 315 35/17.

Will this give the car a good look and work out fine? I don't know jack about different offsets and just want the set up to work without getting burned. Thanks.

Oh, here is the latest wheel I am looking at if curious. http://www.zip-corvette.com/ProductDetails/ProductDetails.aspx?pid={31e86d53-4a8d-4176-b351-dc43526aa971}&gid={82e49116-7c76-4d74-82ce-5dcaf0f5ade6}&GroupName=Reproduction+Whe els&pname=88-96+Grand+Sport+Wheel+Set+%2817x9.5%22%2f 17x11%22%29&Referer=&Alias=&ptct=SGR-SR&CTitle=&

How does this work for you? He also has a special on the black wheels.
