Corvette LT1 muffler eliminators
I want to get a pair of LT1 muffler eliminators for my 92 Corvette. My question to everyone is if I get them will I lose horse power or will I gain hose power?

Lemme see, you'll gain about 5 decibels in sound, so using the standard noise/power ratio that should be about 40hp! Actually there will be no difference in power. I think I have a pair of them around here off of a 96.

I no longer own my 95 on which I installed them...to be honest I never noticed any increase in power at all...and only a very slight increase in noise (much better at idle) and rather pleasant (to me ears) under WOT...
Sold the car BUT gave the original mufflers to the buyer so it would pass inspection IF he needed them...

I have a pair sitting in a box that were on my 95. Really nice sound, but a bit too loud for my neighbors in the morning when I leave for work.
Sell them to you for $90 plus shipping.

Here's a before / after clip of my '95 LT1. Elims are from Corvette Central. The camera mike cuts the sound a litle on high rpm's, but you may get an idea of the difference. I'm not bothered by drone, but the noise level inside is def louder, and on long trips you may want to consider ear plugs....

I took my '94 to an exhaust shop and asked them to:
1. Cut off my mufflers.
2. Cut the exhaust tips from the mufflers.
3. Weld the tips on a straight pipe.
4. Install the straight pipe where the mufflers had been.
Same as muffler eliminators at a lower price.

They don't add power, or very little. They add a LOT of sound. Sounds great on my 92 vert. Although sometimes, just sometimes I get a little tired of them.

Like others have said... Just go to a muffler shop and they will cut the mufflers out, weld straight pipes in and your muffler tips on for around $100ish
