Default Tires in wrong Position

I own a 1994 coupe and only drive it occasionally. Today I noticed my tires were out of position. The front tires were in the rear and vise-versa. This may have happened at my last oil change. I think they rotated my tires and I didnt realize it. I did notice a change in the ride but never thought to check the tires until today. Is there any consequence to running the P285/40ZR17 tires on the front and the smaller P255/45/ZR17 in the rear? Any harm done?

No harm done, BUT I hope it's the last time these guys touch your car.

They do need to have this mentioned to them though..

First, this belongs more in the C4 forum, but that's alright. Secondly, no, no real harm will be done except that handling and traction will be affected. The most simple solution is to simply change them back. This can be done in 30 min. or less.

Put the bottle down

Maybe you need a GPS to find the C6 section

If they are directional tires and they swapped them to the other side of the car there could be issues. Change them back asap. If they just swapped fronts to backs and vice versa, no big deal, change them back.

I learned this the hard way in my IROC back in the 80's...... wasnt fun

Thanks everyone. By the way, I started off in the C4 forum but somehow this was posted in the wrong forum.

Tires are tires, who cares where you posted it. No problem...
