Default How come I never see "slammed" C4's?

It seems to be the only model that I don't see slammed like the C5's and C6's.

Is there a problem in lowering them to teh "slammed" status, or do folks just NOT prefer to do it?

It would be the very first mod that I did. Removing bolts, whatever. I love the slammed, ground scraping, Le Mans racing look.

What's the story here?

That's why I don't like lowering a low vehicle. Every speed bump and parking lot entrance you get slammed.

Unless it is used as a track car,i don't see the reasoning in "slamming" a corvette or any other model for that matter.

As it is going over speed bumps and pulling in/out of some driveways are a challenge at stock height.

I can't get mine out of my drive without dragging the chin spoilers...I can't imagine it lowered.

There's not a lot of ground clearance to start with...something like 4.7 inches I think.

I'll go with the folks just perfer not to do it. Actually, coming from LA, I'm surprized you haven't seen them. They are there.

Funny thing is, 40 years ago the "in" look was just the opposite - jacked up was cool. Sometimes just the front, sometimes the back, and often both.

My uncle had an old 55, I think, had the front jacked up. You couldn't even see where you were going

The rear jacked a little was nice, but we had to do that in order to get those Mickey Thompsons mounted

But there are several C4s lowered. I like the look but I would never do it because of the clearance factor.

Mine's lowered, but to slam them is usually bad on the front spring, your back, and your floor pan.

You can lower it a bit so it looks better but it does not have to be so low that you hit earthworms.

Seems to be the prevailing theme here..

I figured there had to be a more "physical" reason. Thanks!

Beautiful ride. Is that a 95 or 96? That's definitely low enough for me. (BTW, nice Jake)

Maybe we just love our oil and tranny pans too much.

My car used to be pretty "slammed", but then I started taking weight out and not it looks like a truck.

Before:

After losing AC, stock seats, AIR system, spare tire, and relocating battery;

Its been on jack stands since I removed the rest of the interior, heater, evap, etc so I dont have a picture, but I bet it will be really tall.

I have coil-overs on the 89 and love them. I don't have that much trouble with scraping I just watch the road we have driven it from LA to BG for The Gathering a couple of times and had no issues. It can still go over an inch lower than pictured here but this is where it performs best.

BTW LT5corsa I love your ZR1!!!!
