Default Rim Question?

I have a 1992 coupe, I want to buy new rims but I don't know how to tell if rims from a company will fit when buying them from a regular seller.

Also I am looking at a set of 19 inch rims with tires-
Will there be a problem with putting on 19 inch rims (clearance-turning)

Bolt pattern-5 lug 4.72 inch or 120mm High Positive Offset which is 5-120.Front tires 235/30/19 Rear Tires 265/30/19

Any help with explaination would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Chris

The offset you gave doesn't make sense. Typical offset on a 9.5" wide wheel is 56mm or the same as a 7-1/4" backspace.

Those tire sizes tell me the rim is not wide enough to look good and probably a 7" front and 8" back.

The diameter will fit, but you need to put a tape measure from inside the hub to the back of the rim. Less than 7-1/4" will start sticking out past the fender.

The stock bolt pattern is 5x 4.75" or 5x120.6mm. That pattern has been that measurement for 5-bolt Chev wheels for 50+ years Sounds like you are looking at a BMW bolt pattern.

The stock 9.5" wide wheels had a 56mm offset. As long as the mounted tire diameter of the new tires and wheels is the same or very close to that of the old 275/40-17 tires and wheels, you won't have clearance issues. And the speedometer won't be off.

What are the wheel widths you are looking at? And what is the offset expressed in millimeters?

You would be much better off by staying with the same size tire and wheel at all four corners so that you can rotate the tire for better wear. Outside of the ZR1, the 92 had the same size tires and wheels all around.

9" rears/8" fronts is what's on my wifes Beamer..running 19's with 30 series. I accidently bought 30 series for some 19's I had on my 92 and hated the look. Sold them the next day as the profile is too little tire for the look on a C4 (19's are too big as well, so I learned).

5x120 does fit a GM easily though, as the .6 mm is a credit card thickness. Ran those 19's freeway speeds etc and they were 5x120s', no shimmy or shake.
