I remember that I just decided to take them off the car and try to redo them. I started by just cutting the edge with the seem, so I could open it up like a book but try not to cut the material because you can use that as a template for the new material.
Before and during taking apart pics!
Finished mirrors by my neighbor who does upholstery, he did it for free because I snow blow his sidewalk in the winter, not a bad deal at all!!
He did it without the ear part and made it a solid peice, much better than the factory original in my opinion, and they work great and no problems with moving them around..Good luck!!

Nice job. But I have a question: has anyone ever actually needed or used lights on their mirrors? I've owned a bunch of cars with these over the years but cannot recall one instance when I used the visors for anything but keeping the sun out of my eyes.
My vert came without sunvisors, so for months I kept a hat in the car!
Then I found a pick-it-yourself junkyard called Crazy Ray's. I found a pair of sunvisors from a Chrysler Sebring Convertible that fit great on my corvette's mounting hardware. (cost $15!!) They're black vinyl and look great and work great. I wouldn't pass muster at an NCRS judging, but they keep the sun out of my eyes!
Congratulations on getting your original sun visors rebuilt so nicely!
The Visors in my '90 Vert were getting a little Ratty, the cloth was coming out from under the Vanity Mirror. I took the expensive route and ordered a set of New Visors off E-Bay that had the Homelink Buttons built into them because I wanted the Homelink for the Garage Door and Subdivision Gate. They were around $125, but I was pleased with the purchase.

I think Sky Vette has it. When folded up the visors just cover the window frame, and when down I can't see a thing except the hood. The only functions they have are 1) holding my garage door opener; and 2) getting in the way of the convertible top release handles.
And now that I think of it the 12V circuit from the visor light might make a very convenient hook-up for a dash-mounted GPS. Hmmmmmm....
A hat is an absolutely necessary accessory for top-down driving anyway.
with the homelink visors is all you had to do wash install visors? Or do you have to add other parts? I want the homelink but wasnt sure if all parts were built into the visor

I bought a set off Ebay that were new and aleady had the Homelink built in. The Homelink is already wired to the 12V that runs the Vanity Lights. Just Plug & Play. Just search "Corvette Visor Homelink" and you should find it.
