Default 1996 Vette Spare Tire

What type of spare tire did the factory use for 1996 Vettes? Reason for the questions is the car I bought has a regular wheel and tire, and for some reason it just doesn't look right. Pics would be great.

It's a space saver spare, the type that has the black steel wheel and the skinny tire with around a 55 MPH max speed rating.

Heckmjnghhh, I would not trust any C4 spare. The newest one is 15 years old. I bet they shred if you hit 55 MPH.

This is how a C4 spare looks like

Size is T155-70-R17 on a 17X4 wheel with 3.75” backspace, good luck finding a replacement, you will need it.

I checked the spare on my newly-acquired 94 vert last month and it was flat. I removed the tire and tire carrier and bought a "Slime Smart Spair" emergency tire repair kit which includes the tire sealant and an air pump. Cost was 19.99 + tax at AutoZone. Hopefully, it will never be needed.
