I hate to see parts go outa production for our cars just at the point where we all are gonna start needing them. My hatch circuit just died but I dont think its a switch. Be nice to be able to get one if it was.
If both door switches and the console release button wont work on your car maybe you need to check the circuit as I do. Its on today's list for me. Circuits on my 85 are dying faster than I can fix em.
actually, i didnt think about it, but check to see if both door switches dont work. and if the middle one does.
if so, its your interior light timer relay. you can also tell because the lights on the doors wont come on. when you open a door.
the other way to test it is turn on your interior lights by twisting the headlight **** all the way over until it clicks. that will close the relay, and your door switches will suddenly start working until you turn the interior lights off.
Thanks for the replies. All hatch releases switches work except for the passanger side door panel, the one used the least. I never look on ebay so some reason.
Had 2 replace my back glass hatch release mechanism 2 years ago at a cost of $115. The struts, original, don't initially open the back glass as high as they use too but they still work.
you should take off the door panel, disconnect the button, and short the 2 wires together to see if the hatch pops. that will tell you for sure its the switch.
