I currently own an 07 nissan titan, i have looked around and i think i want to purchase a c4 vette with the value from my truck estimated 12k, if anyone can give me reasons that this is a good or bad idea all are very welcome.
1st I dont want to spend much on the car around 5-7k i just want a lower milage good working motor, the interior dosen't matter much to me nor does the paint job, it would become my daily driver, how realistic is that expectation?
2nd i want to do a few things to the car, new paint job- flat black. rims, exhaust, headers, brakes, all new interior and fixing any other problem areas.
3rd some kind of FI not sure if turbo kits are available or if a supercharger is the best way to go?
thanks for your opinions and help its all welcome!
JMO, but corvettes of our generation tend to fall into either creampuff or beater catagories.
A creampuff will be (likely) above your price range considering your request for lower miles.
Beaters get expensive in a hurry. Mine would fall into that catagory...bought it cheap, went through the engine, now have a dependable daily with 1000 miles on powerplant, but still needs some paintwork and could stand some interior improvement. I'm in at about $4800 currently.
Personal opinion...flat black says "I just don't give a damn how my stuff looks". I know it's all the rage, but vette owners USUALLY have a little more pride than that. But as always, different strokes for different folks

Reason: spellin'
I daily drove a 1995 6 spd coupe. It was ok for me, but I do most of my own wrenching.
It will definitely get better gas mileage than your Titan.
I would go larger engine like 383 or bigger depending on if you have strict emissions testing. not a lot of space in the C4 for a supercharger-normally I would go the centrifugal s/c route for most types of cars and trucks.
Can you tell us what's wrong with the Nissan Titan besides gas mileage? Lot's of guys here drive C4's as daily drivers. If you can turn a wrench, C4's are not bad at all to fix if something goes wrong. Most people who complain about things breaking or being hard to work on usually have "beaters" that were never maintained correctly and like any other car, they can seem like nightmares to keep running. Why in the world would you want to paint a cheap $5000 Corvette flat black? It will look like a car worth even less than that after you do that! I agree it will say "I don't give a damn how it looks". It may even fall into the "beater" category as far as how others perceive it's looks. But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Good luck.
this is the idea i wanted to build the vette around, i have the money to fix up the car and do the right things to get the look i want. I think this looks sharp better than a **** yellow vette jon i wanted the same gloss hood and a flat black body with a semi gloss red racing strip thought this would say more than i dont give a damn how this looks..? but you guys have no creativity..
$5,000-$7,000 C4 will end up costing you a lot of money to do what you want. If you have disposible income and a daily driver, the Vette would be a project. If you don't have a lot of money to throw at this car and its going to be your everyday car, then its pretty unrealistic to do what you want without spending thousands and thousands of dollars. I would keep the Titan, buy a $7,000 C4 and enjoy it on the weekends. Then every other week some part will fail and you'll be spending money and wrenching for hours.
Matte Black=2006. Very sign of the times look, kinda like tribal arm band tatoos in the late 90's.
Matte Black looks like a car that has been primered and waiting to get painted. Very popular though.
