I am trying match the leather on my 1990 with saddle leather seats. My build sheet and the tag under the says Cognac as the color.

I ordered a set of 94-96 standard to upgrade in 90 saddle/cognac. They are nowhere near the right color . Has anyone ever replaced the seats in there 90 saddle and got a good match? Where did you buy from?

My car only has 22,000 miles and I know the interior is in great shape and not faded.

The interior colors changed from 90 to 94 when they did the interior upgrade. same with the 84-89, 90-93, and 94-96. Unless its black, You won't be able to order a perfect match with the 94 seats unless you have them custom made.


Also, I'm not sure what all you doing but FYI you can't put 94-96 seat foam/covers on 84-93 seat frames.

I guess i wasnt clear. I have a spare set of 94-96 seat frames already. I ordered CUSTOM 94-96 standard seats to be covered on 90 leather saddle. The stock sport seat base is to narrow for my wide a**.
I ordered from a major vendor and they are trying to make it right. But if they cant match the 90 color I am wondering who has had luck doing it .

Actually, the colors changed in 92. Gray became lighter, and Saddle became a light tan. These same colors carried over into the restyled seats in 94.

I thought you ordered 94-96 seats and wanted the color to match.


If you had an upholstery shop make the seat covers for you, then you need to contact them and have them fix it. But if you ordered them from one of the big catalog company's that mass produce them, then you will have a hard time getting the 94-96 seat covers in the 90 color because they are not stocked that way.


I agree with you about the style of the seats, I like the 94-96 style much better then the 84-93 style. I just wanted to inform you that the frames are different as well. Many people have came to this forum wanting to change the foam only since they need new foam and covers.

Nobody has replaces 90 Saddle/Cognac seat with any luck ????

I had a custom set made by a major Corvette supplier, they are trying to resolve but are having provide the correct color..
