steering column info?

According to the parts fische at local Chevy dealer, ONLY 90-93 columns will work in a 90-93 vette--working on fixing a loose column in mine--the knuckle (lower part of the tilt) usually goes bad, however, my problem is the upper part--id as "steering column housing", and is the part the knuckle goes into--NOT AVAILABLE from GM, nor after market--canvasing salvage yards now for replacement parts good luck GG

I could be wrong, but I think if' you're adding an aftermarker wheel, you can broaden your years of coverage. One of the limitations for years is air bags. If you're not going to have an airbag in the wheel, I _think_ several other years can be made to work.
