Anybody know if you can get old accident reports from Missouri, and if so how to go about it? According to Carfax my Vette was in a front impact in November 1994, and a right front impact in November 2004. Both notations have the Missouri accident report number. Looking to trace history and previous owners of the car and also would not mind seeing just what happened to the car in those accidents. Would this go through the state DMV, the cops, or what? Thanks!
Need to know where the accident occurred. if it was state it would be at the State Police HQs in Jefferson City. otherwise it would be in the locality of where the accident happened. If they keep them that long!
Sarge, first one (1994) was in St. Charles, the second one just says "Missouri" no jurisdiction. Each one has a 10-digit report number - the first one starts with "094" and the second with "004" so that must mean the year. Wondering if the next 2 or 3 might indicate a jurisdiction but that's just speculation. But they both seem to use the same format. If it's paper records they probably toss them, if it's computerized who knows.
Well I tried calling the Columbia PD records and got their voice mail, I guess it's donut break time!
Good one Mike
Not sure how you would go about getting accident reports that far back.
I know Missouri Highway Patrol has a website for accident reports, but that only goes back 29 days and isn't the type of report your after anyway.

Don, why would you ever buy a car that came from Missouri?? You know the kind of people that come from there, well at least two
OK Mike and Greg, put the freakin' guns down

Well, it was either this one, or that white with blue stripes one from Arkansas, and that darn thing I'd never have got the donut smell out of!
Maybe I'll just send a letter to the DMV asking about their archives and see where they send me. Sometimes it's amazing what gets filed forever. Guess it won't hurt to try.

Now, Don, that was completely uncalled for. You are now on my list the next time you head to Oklahoma to play with trains.
Besides, donuts smell (and taste) good.

Just because you're not on here as often does not give you a pass on having your chain yanked! Now I've got both Missouri and Arkansas laying for me, I'll have to go through Kansas and then head south into OK from there!
Anybody know which MO agency would maintain accident report the archives (if any) - State Police or Motor Vehicle Dept? I would think they would have to keep them fir a few years anyway, in case there was some lawsuit which developed after the fact from some crash or other. The 1994 one may well be gone but 2004 is possibly still around. (From what I can tell, 1994 would still be the original owner and that's the one I need more)

In Mo we stay cocked, locked and ready to rock. Cat season is in May sometime IIRC!

Ya'll are limited on cats? Here in Arkansas, it's cat season year-round, with no bag limit. You even get bonus points if the cat taken has a canadian accent and says " eh, what the..?" just before being harvested.

Don't worry Don, going to lock Bobby in a room full of Liberals and only put one shot in his revolver
