Ok thanks guys in advance for your help! Heres the issue, last fall one night i was driving the vette to work on the way it die and i couldnt get it to restart. On my lunch a buddy drove me over there and it fired right up. It didnt happen again the rest of the season. Then yesterday after having it out it did it again, but this time it started after 5 or 6 tries. Has anyone had this issue? Any help would be great! THANKS
Sounds like the ICM (ignition control module), which is mounted on the front of the pass side head by the coil. The ICM fails when it gets hot and starts working again after it cools off. autozonew can test it for you, just be sure they cycle it to get it hot.
I just replaced the ICM to resolve a starting issue. Mine wouldn't start at all. I did a couple of tests and ordered a new one from a local parts store for $88. Problem solved. Took about an hour to change it but I cleaned everything up while I was at it.

I hope you put thermal paste between the ICM and the heat sink or you will be changing it again soon.
thanks guys ........a few more questions, i looked and found it bolted to the front of the head on passenger side. Is it held on with 2 bolts? Also where do u put the paste?

You can either remove the coil/ICM assembly or just remove the ICM. The assembly requires loosening the power stearing reservoir and then removing a stud and bolt. Then the coil/ICM will come off. I did this because mine was greasy and dirty and it gave me the opportunity to clean it up. You can also just remove just the ICM. It has 2 6mm screw holding it on the coil bracket iirc. Then the ICM and heat sink will come off. Clean the heat sink on both the front and back as well as where the heat sink mates up with the coil bracket. Then apply half of the heat sink compound to each side of the heat sink and re-assemble.

Thanks guys this is why i come here 1st thing when i have an issue. Fast and dead on answers! I got ICM off and took it to the parts store it was bad! Thanks again! One last question should i go ahead and replace coil to or no? I did see one reply that suggested it.

Your coil probably isn't bad. I didn't replace mine and it runs great ... 183,000 miles on original coil. Your choice, it's only money.
