Default "Hash"ing question

Just bought a white vette with Grand Sport paint scheme albeit in White, Black stripe and red hash marks. I love the looks of it, especially looking at the driver's side. The red hash marks and red brake calipers look great. Only thing is, the passenger side looks bland, and I'm considering having the hash marks put on passenger fender. However, I dread the numerous comments I'll get by the purist, "you know, they're only supposed to be on the driver fender".

What do ya'll think?

If you were really worried about that, they shouldn't be on your White Vette to begin with.

If it was my car, and I liked them I wouldn't have a problem adding them to the passenger side.

Its yours...forget the purist, besides they'd also say "shouldn't your car be blue w/ a white stripe.

Just do it.

I might eventually put black hash marks on my green car on both sides, so who cares. As for the purist... LOL that means boring or plain Jane to me.

The only reason not to touch a car is if it is not yours, in a museum, or worth more being untouched.

Your C4 is already unconventional in many ways so make the car make you happy.

There may be some sort of hash table we can reference to find out what is acceptable for this...

Really, one of local people has a new GS in the bright red color and had white hash vinyls installed on both fenders and it looks good. Worst case is that you don't like it and remove them.

Do whatever makes you happy, it's your car, if you think it makes it look better, then it does

I have them on both sides. I like the balanced look and don't really care what the so called 'purists' think.

So how was the drive home from Minnesota? I thought that car would look awesome in my driveway with my 88 35th Anniversary but just couldn't swing it right now. My vote leave it alone but it isn't my car so I really have no say in it. If you want it on both sides go for it.

It would kinda look like this....

or with a gumball....

I copied another members photo and did a little tweaking to see what I liked. And I like it!

If it's YOUR car do what YOU like to it!

Pointing out the impurity of a second hash on a white/black GS themed car would qualify as A completely idiotic thing to do. Sadly, it will probably happen but just laugh and move on.

you like? - you do.

I personally think anyone that has the nerve to walk around and play expert with someone elses car is a little wacko and deserves a good sock to the head . Listen to them? Hell no.

whos to say what correct is anyway? Your vision of your ride is whats correct.

If you like it go for it. The C6 grand sport has them on both sides...to me it's too much, but it's not my car. I've always just liked the one side.

Yep, I'm going to do it. you all gave me my answer..... If it's pointed out that it's not a correct GS theme, answer is.....it's not a GS!! I like it. I think a white car needs a little something IMHO....previous owner I think really had the right idea with the GS theme, I just like the red hash so much I want it on both sides, so both sides it is. Thanks all for your input.

If my 95 was Admerial Blue or how ever you spell it, I would make it a GS clone and would not give a dam what anybody thought. Go for it.

I think the very last C4 was arctic white, red guts and red hash marks. I'm almost positive it rolled out that way.

You could try this. I have red on the C4 but don't have a good pic, same location as on my wife's C6

Ride home was great. Weather was fantastic and car performed like a new car. stopped at a walmart on way out of town and bought some quick detail mist and microfiber cloths so I could wipe off bugs at every stop. This car is in amazing condition and I want to keep it this way. It was supposed to be a daily driver, but is way too nice...looks new inside and out. Soooo.... It will be a pampered garage queen. Now I'll have to look for another daily driver Don't tell my wife!!
