Thinking about ordering an acrylic top from corvette
america for $1300. Need some input from the forum
about these good or bad.
Thanks
I recently bought a reman top for my '94. $779.00 from Mid-America very happy. Make sure you follow the install instructions. Very important to set it wright.
Went with the Sunroof Doctor, got order in less than a week and bought remanufactured one for 794.00 total including shipping and they send a prepaid label for your old one if you want to send in they give you $150.00 back. I decided to keep mine. But it looks like new. It is remanufactured on GM original frame and Hardcoated.
Their price before shippin and core is 595.00. They Also have them for 100.00 less if you don't want hard coated (clear coat). But they said that it scratches easy without hardcoat.

Let us know how it holds up. I know they dunk tank the frames and repaint them which is nice. Others like on my top just spray it down with rattle can paint as is.
I can't speak to the quality of the top, but have to agree with the others....buy used until you're certain you really want a new one. $1300 is quite pricey.
When I bought Marco last April, all it had was the acylic top. It was like driving the Easy Bake Oven down the road.....even in April. I can't imagine what summer would have been like here in the desert where it gets 110 degrees. A hard top was the FIRST thing I bought, and the acrylic hasn't been back on since. Seemed like the sun was always in my eyes with the glass top.
You might be able to find a near perfect top in the parts section for a lot less.....
If I were you, I'd just stick with the non-acrylic top. Just take the top off if you want to see the sky when you drive. I have a acrylic top on my car and I rarely look up when I'm driving so it wouldn't make much of a difference.
-EDIT-
Also acrylic tops are much more expensive and much more likely to crack or have problems than the hard top.
