First of all your wifey needs this....

Secondly, I personally wouldn't sell it unless it was for a nice Z06 or FRC C5. Otherwise the C5s are really kinda plain, boring, etc. Also, you're probably not going to get much for your C4, so if you like it, keep it...or seriously consider stepping up to a C6.

Have to agree. JR youve had that whole car apart and made it the way you want, super reliable. Not worth selling.

If Mama ain't happy, Nobody's happy!
But I do agree with Paul. The LSX motors are just refinements of a 100 year old design. Dual overhead cams is the way to go!

I would say to upgrade since I consider the 300hp LT1 to be BARELY acceptable to run with the average V6 Camry or Hyundai these days. Those 200hp C4's...I don't know how you guys live with those.

I suppose it's more a matter of insurance and parking to keep it. The money you can get for it is not going to be a lot.

Get the C5! That way you can drive it daily and get it filthy. You can go grocery shopping with it. You can park it on any street and no one will touch it and may not even notice it. Heck, you might even want to put a trailer hitch on it! They may be a bit more powerful, but the C5 body design to me is just plain boring. Kind of like a Firebird with a fat rear end.

Actually Wayne, none.

I choose my battles carefully. Very carefully. I won't bother to fight one that I'm not 1000% adamant about winning at any cost. That means there aren't many battles. After 22 years, Mz. Friz knows this.

What kind of car I drive is one of those battles. I work hard, sometimes long stressful days. I put up with a lot of lip from people of all ilk for the privilege of what I'm paid. I will drive the car I want, ANY car I want, and nobody will tell me otherwise. I don't care who they think they are. If I wanted a new ZR1, that's what would be in the garage. My car(s) are one of the few joys I get out of life these days.

BUT....I am blessed with a wife who not only supports, but encourages my automotive eccentricities and doesn't care what I spend. This makes life easy. Because if I wasn't so blessed, I would be single. My old C4 is well within our means, so I'm lucky I have relatively simple tastes.....but I've reached that age and financial standing where I refuse to allow anyone to have any degree of control over me that I find unacceptable. That includes family, employer, friends, anyone.

So there you have it. No time outs in the dog house for this ol' hound.....

Are you going to get another $5000 for all the nicely polished aluminum UNDER the car? Keep the car and get a second one...the C5 for her. You can teach her how to polish aluminum .
