Went to change the fuel filter....expecting it to be pretty simple....and found the damn thing tucked under the x-frame. I don't have a lift, only a jack and wanted to know if I have to pull the bottom x support frame off in order to change out this little fuel filter? Should I jack the car up on the right side only, unbolt the x frame in the middle and both spots on the right side?

Should be similar to my 88. Jack stand the right side. Start the engine and then pull the fuel pump fuse, let the engine stall. From the filler door disconnect all the fuel lines from the tank. The filter is accessible but not easy. The fuel lines will be tight but loosen them about 1/2 turn. Remove the frame mounting bolt. Place rags or old towels close and remove the rail end first. Allow all the fuel to drain into the towels. Disconnect the tank end and allow it to drain into the rags. Replace the filter. Like I said before it isn't easy but after you do it and have patience and all the correct size tools at hand you could do it in an about 90 minutes.
that makes sense....run the engine, pull the fuse...jack up the right side, unbolt the x frame and wedge a piece of wood for clearance....then get at the filter. Any suggested sealer? Teflon tape?
