Please stop and take a moment this weekend to remember those who have served to protect us over the history of America and those who this very moment continue to serve us with pride and honor.
God Bless America, and God Bless our soldiers, past and present.
As a veteran myself, I stop and salute all of those who have and are serving.

I too would like to take the time and thank all the many courageous veterans who have made the USA the greatest country in the world. May God's special blessings be with each one of them on this glorious holiday. And thank you for your service.
Going to do the Rolling Thunder ride tomorrow. First real ride sense accident.
"Memorial Day formerly known as Decoration Day, commemorates men and women who died while in military service to the United States. First enacted to honor Union and Confederate soldiers, now to honor Americans who have died in all wars".
Lets keep and honor all who have suffured. All the families, The dead and the missing in action.

And a special belated thanks to the Vietnam Vets that never got the homecoming they deserved.
Strange, isn't it, that it took the recent conflicts to get people to appreciate Vietnam vets retrospectively. But what the hell -- when I got back I was given a (tough) steak breakfast at Travis AFB, a $500 Vietnam veteran bonus from the state of Ohio (cash money!) and the GI Bill for graduate school so I didn't have any complaints.
And I'm glad to see my kids getting the credit they deserve for their service. We just got back from the airport this morning sending our eldest son back to Iraq after leave and people were constantly coming up to thank him for his service. When he's traveling in uniform he can hardly pay for his own meals or coffee.
Of course, he's a much better soldier than I ever was.
I thought of my fellow warriors this past weekend but didn't visit any memorials, specially the Vietnam Memorial, even though I was in the Washington area because it saddens me to the point of tears. With all the BS going on with the politicians in Washington, DC, I feel as though I wasted 24 years of my life defending our country since they seem to be doing their best to flush it down the toilet.
