Default FX3 shocks question

I have a 1995Vette.....Can I replace them with regular shocks and does a light on the DIC light up because of this?

regular shocks install just the same- which ones you get will be a matter of preference and source of endless debate here in the forums. I would try to match them to your spring rate. Base suspension would be ok with a semi-stiff shock like a KYB or the softer valved Bilsteins etc.

There will be a light. I also recall unplugging the controller after I removed the shocks and actuators (behind the seat in the ABS compartment). Do a search on how to remove the stereo face panel by removing the console plate first.

I believe the FX3 are Bilsteins which can be rebuilt by Bilstein. Personally that's the route I'd take:

Thanks for the info...so the removal of the stero face panel is to remove the light bulb that will be behind the screen after I replace the shocks?
Thanks

heres what I get with the wonderful CF search...c4 stero face panel removal>>>"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. "...so what terms do I use?

unsrcew the 3 screw for the shifter console- two are under the armrest lid at the back and one of them is under a cup holder. You'll have to unplug the cig lighter. you may or may not have to take off the shifter handle...you could just flop the cover sideways and work on the rest of it. be careful not to just rip it out, there are two guide tabs on the front which are easy to snap off just gently lift and pull back.

From there, you will see the screws needed to take off stereo face plate. I seem to recall having to unscrew one of the vents to uncover the last fastener for the radio cover plate.

You then just unscrew the DIC and remove the bulb for the suspension warning.
