Back in 2009, I purchased an LED third brake light from Mid America. It took some time to get it due to supplier issues. When it arrived, I was already in the process of using my 1993 vette. I figured that since I was going to purchase new tail lamps, I would install the brake light at that time. Well the light doesn't work due to the supplier shipping the light with the wrong connector. When I called Mid America they asked if the brake light was already installed. I replied that I hooked it up and it doesn't work. That's when I received the additional info that the LED was shipped with the wrong connector. I was told I couldn't send it back due to the fact that it was already hooked up, but I could just hardwire it in to work. My question is should I hook it up directly? Should I just throw it in the trash and not purchase from them again, or should I pitch a complaint? I purchased from them before, but since this and issues with my replacement tail light sockets, I feel like I have been left out in the cold. Any advice would be great.
Just some follow up info. The reason for the time lapse was the purchase took place in 2009 at Carlisle. The part was not received until Oct/Nov. And I put the vette away for the winter. When the vette was taken out in the spring of 2010 it went in for paint work and interior work. I didn't know of the improper connector until 6/10. I tried to address it at Carlisle in 8/10. I
It has now come to light again as I have the vette out and the part is on a shelf.

Reason: additional info
I'd cut the connector off the old light, and soldier onto the new light. Viola, done. If you don't have an old 3rd brake light, like oldalaskaman said, you should be able to find the right connector at just about any local autoparts store.
