Well I gave up pursuing the c4 I was after but ended up with this fiberglass wrapped beauty powered by a built corvette 350 drive train... 1970 Avanti ll 350 4bolt main, cam, Edelbrock intake and four barrel carb, shorty headers, cherry bomb mufflers and ford 9 inch rear with four wheel disc brakes. .. 165k miles with drive train built within the last 3k miles.. Cool unique ride and I don't see another one coming at me going down the highway.. Rides better than the 90 c4 I owned previously.. A cousin bought a white one new supercharged in 1963.. Always liked them, now I have one.. On to my latest adventure

Welcome to the forum.
Lucky, it looks like an automatic. I Didn't buy an 84, wanted to wait until all the bugs were out before I made the big purchase, "NOT". I waited a very long time when I bought my 1985 brand new with a 4+3 , it was the biggest piece of **** car I have ever owned. In the first 6 months with less then 1000 miles on it, it spent more time at the dealership then in my garage, while I was making payments on it & paying for insurance. At one visit it was there for 61 days. They couldn't fix it, I had to hire a lawyer, sue general motors & lemon law the car. The 4+3 transmission had a mind of it's own. While driving at 75 mph it decided to downshift at random on it's own, into 1st or 2nd gear, heard a big really loud bang, the tranny exploded & the drive shaft twisted & almost went threw the floor. Two more transmissions were put in & both did the same thing. Worst customer service I have ever encountered with any company hands down, both at the corporate & dealership levels. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NEW GM PRODUCT AGAIN !
Wow! That sounds horrible. It is an automatic and my first of many vettes, I hope. There are a few I’m not fond of but the C4 and the C8 are in my dreams. lol. The best part is the guy wants to trade for my e-bike. Can you imagine a Vette for a bicycle? He said “ it ran when I parked it” lol. Needs a battery and has a “bad” oil leak. I asked him where he thought he saw the leak. He said it is coming from a rubber hose, my guess without seeing it is the oil cooler line ($35 for 12 feet). Could it be that easy? lol. We will see tomorrow.
