Default Where to run???

Where do ya'll run laps? Do race tracks like INDY or NASCAR tracks have track days? I'd love to be able to open up the vette. I live in South Louisiana, but am able to travel.
Thanks.

Texas World Speedway in Bryan/ College Station Texas isn't that far from you (a bit above Houston) and have track events every now & then. They have a road course through the infield and get you up on the big bank turns 3&4 and onto the long front straight. It's a big track too, like Daytona, so you can really let it out if you have proper safety equipment for the speed you want to run. I don't know their schedule but they probably have a website with info.

Talladega also has a track event benefit for service families on the 4th of July. It isnt a flat out run but a paced speed run. Check in the Regional Forum.

Trackpedia lists some tracks.

Pick a track then pick a club for an event to attend.

Check out NASA Mid-South. Its a new region and they are just getting started.
Tracks like TGPR, Nashville, Memphis are this years schedule.
I know they are combining with other regions and going to Hallet this year.
IIRC they were talking to the track near New Orleans and Barber to add to next years schedule.

Go to this link

http://www.nasaproracing.com/

Go to "Driving Info", then "Open Track/HPDE"

Before you get on the track,,,, learn to drive it. This is probably the best way to do it and have fun at the same time.
