I was fiddling with my 1990 coupe today and noticed that a fuse was missing so I replaced it. This caused my interior lights and climate control to start working which I was stoked about because they never had before. But then I couldn't figure out how to turn them off, Which is guess is why one of the last owners pulled the fuse.
Is there any trick to this or do I have something funky going on with my wiring?
This probably seems like a stupid question but corvettes are quite rare here in new Zealand so no one around is likely to knew either.

I just tried the dimmer switch and it dimmed the dash lights but none of the others. What normally triggers these lights? Do they work off the doors or rear hatch?
I had the same thing happen to me. I sat in the car and couldn't figure out why the lights were on. But my dimmer switch was all the way up.
Does it click when you put it all the way up if it doesn't it might be broken.
While I'm not 100%, I believe the BCM controls the interior lights in the car. The lights will remain on for a few minutes once leaving the car and shutting the doors after which they will shut off.
If the lights are not shutting off automatically, then there is a problem in the system somewhere such as a faulty switch, bad wiring, or bad BCM. Most likely this is the reason why the fuse was pulled.
look on your driver door. Towards the back of it there is a little black thing about with of your thumb? It has like a tab you can pull out. Pull it out and shut your door again. Its like a sensor that tells you if your doors open or not. Hope this works
Early C4s courtesy lighting was controled by a dimmer board which I think as well ended up in one of the computers. I think that would suggest you have a bad switch in the door if the lights do not go out after 30 or so seconds after pulling the key and exiting the vehicle or immediately after cranking the car.
ok, went and had another play with it. turns out elrick was right and i hadnt tried it preoperly. im 50% stoked its sorted and 50% embarassed i couldnt figure this out the first time. cheers for the help guys.
