Default Braided brake lines.

I just noticed my 1990 coupe has braided brake lines. Did any c4's come out like this standard?
The reason I ask is that if they arnt factory I will probably have to remove them to get the car registered here in new Zealand.

No, they are not standard. C4's never came with stainless lines.

No they arent, but why would you be required to change that back to rubber?

In that case, it was a rare dealer option.

Some are DOT approved in the USA and some not. I believe that the approved ones have a reinforcement at the fitting ends. If your are then they should be fine if not then not legal in either country no doubt. If a car is made in the USA and passes safety regs here are they honored there? A good inspector wouldknow the difference a bad one only knows not stock so not legal. It is like smog laws in the USA in some states why a visual inspection. To me if the tailpipe passes it should not matter what is under the hood or anywhere else something SEMA should really fight for if they had guts to get it done..
