Default Another exhaust thread..... CORSA

hey guys, Alright Im about to pull the trigger on finally getting some exhaust for my 95 vette. Looking at getting Corsa. The price is alittle crazy but Ive heard nothing but good things about it. I have a small exhaust leak right now and at about 70 I get this awful drone so..... Drone seems to be all you get from the others (Borla, B&B, etc.) So its sounds like Corsa is the one for me. But Ive got one question. As you all probably know Youtube doesnt do exhaust any justice ever. I was wondering how much if any actual deep tone you have with the corsa at idle and acceleration. Any c5 guys help me out but with the corsa system do you get that sexy smooth higher tone sound through smooth acceleration at like 4000 rpm? You guys know what Im talking about? Thanks

You'll know when you hear it.

Corsa is popular for a reason, Good Sound with no Drone. No other aftermarket exhaust system will have both. Trust me, I spent over 2k trying!

i have a corsa system on my 94, six speed. Sound, and sound preference is obviously subjective....... i like loud music, and i like the sound of a harley without stock pipes. my corsa system gives a me a thick, deep rumble when you would expect it, and never any drone. (my bro in law has a c5 with a non-corsa system with a drone so powerful i worry about my head exploding when i ride with him.

IMHO, the corsa system is not nearly loud enough to get the attention of an eager law enforcement officer, which i think, is a good thing.

long-winded way of saying, for me it is just right.

good luck in your search.

This thread has some vids of my car that might help. I am running only the corsa mufflers on an otherwise custom exhaust setup. Its pretty quiet at idle but will really wail when you get on it.

for the best price, follow the autoanything link in the attached thread. i just bought a corsa catback system for my 96 - with the additional 15%, it came in at $1046 and FREE shipping. it's going to hard to beat that price anywhere...

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-p...-777-75-a.html

this will be my 4th corsa system - had it on my 2000, my 08, and my 90 coupe. sound is subjective, but as far as i'm concerned, it's a great sound - not so loud as to draw too much attention, and this is hard to explain, but it just sounds right for a corvette. no drone, no resonance, no nothing but perfectly balanced sound. corsa systems are well made, great fit and finish and i've never had installation issues.

Corsa does NOT have a deep tone its more of a high pitched tinny rasp.
They are nice and have no resonance though.

The latest Gen B&B is deeper toned Id say the interior noise is just a small step above stock, not irritating in the least. Pay for what ya get though.

Oh by the moderators are going to start hating the exhausts/Corsas threads.

One thing, you can not compare the C5 Corsa to the C4 Corsa. They have a different tone.

Heck, the C5 Magnaflow has no drone... imagine that one.

I've done few searches and the best Corsa search was $1,200 free shipping for the LT engines. How much are you paying?

If you use the link below, you too can get 15% off anything over $100 and includes free shipping.

http://autoanything.extole.com/a/clk/CvSLL

Found out the link is good till the end of the month (till 1 July) I believe.

Hope you guys can take advantage! It certainly means alot of savings if you are planning to buy big. Joe C. above saved $185 on his exhaust purchase! That's almost 3 full tanks of gas!!!

Chalk up another very satisfied Corsa owner here. I yanked a nasty, droning B&B system off of my '94 LT1 six-speed car last year, and installed Corsa in its place. I wish I'd done this when I bought the car seven years ago.

Corsa rumbles at idle, growls if you blip the throttle, and barks when you go WOT. Sounds superb running up to redline. And is nearly quiet at light-throttle cruise below 2k RPM. Best of all, ZERO resonance. Quality stainless construction.

I'd be very surprised if you intall a Corsa, and don't truly love it. Seems nearly everybody who's done it is very pleased.

Live well,

SJW

100% true. My parents C5 has a corsa cat back and it does just that. sound amazing at idle and under wot/load but as soon as the rpms drop for cruising it is silent. It is by far one of the best sounding and functioning exhausts i have ever heard.

You will not be disappointing,

If you don't get the Corsa, you'll be starting another post about, " How can I eliminate exhaust drone"!...

So its relatively quiet until you open up the throttle? Does it get real raspy at that point? How much bass does it actually have at idle? I like what im hearing though. Nice deep idle, good sound at acceleration, and then all hell breaks looose when you punch it??? correct??

Youre correct on all points except the idle it does not have that deep bassy sound.
Corsa tunes that out to prevent drone.
You can still tell its a V8 though.

Get on youtube and listen to come clips with C4/corsa there are a million of them.

People with Corsa's will swear by them (like me). Not mentioned, is they are a snap to install, everything fits perfectly and it is definetly a DIY project if you choose. Quality product and fit and as mentioned, sounds great at idle, really great at WOT and NO DRONE. Is it worth the extra money for all that? IMO, a resounding yes.
