I had a 2004 coupe. Sold it several years ago. Im itching to get another Vette and came across this C4 creampuff.
1995 with 19,000 miles. Showroom condition and everything works. Never seen a body shop. Bright Aqua Metallic, auto, grey leather. (thats all the info I have)
Might be going to see her in person this weekend.
I know more about the C5's than I do about the C4's. Anything special I should look for? Anything I should avoid concerning a 1995 model?
I will be getting the VIN later today. Can anyone help me?
He's asking $18,000 but I think the price is negotiable.
Thanks
Sounds like a real nice car but nowhere near 18k worth.
Nothing rare about it other than the mileage but there is something to be said for very low mileage thats usually a good thing.
95 was almost the end of the run on the C4s so pretty much all the bugs had been worked out by then, not being sarcastic here just honest. If that car can be had for not too much over $15,000 that would work. Not too many people buying cars these days. Now,get ready for all the -FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY YOU COULD BUY A-I believe buying the cleanest, low mile car is the best, regardless of what year it is.

Curious as to why you want a C4, having owned a late C5? There's a whole lot of C5's from 1999 and even 2000 for that price, with reasonable mileage. I love my C4, but if I was looking to spend that kind of dough, I'd certainly be looking at C5's.
I did about the same thing. I had a 2004 Z16. When the economy started tanking I was able to sell it and not loose a great deal. After a few months I missed hanging around car events and the occasional spirited drive, plus I had already invested in some detailing equip.
Last year I found a fully documented 96 Coupe w/ 24K miles and a whole lot of replacement parts, wheels, seats, magna flow exhaust, cool air induction, and stereo to name a few for 13K. Definitely noticed the 100 hp less, the less leg room as well as the extra foot and a half you have to reach over the rear of the car. The car flexes a bit when you take the roof off, which is also a bit of work. I spend some extra time under the hood and have yet to crawl up under the dash to fix the AC issue which happens in the 95-96 models blowing only out the floor and defrost. I'm satisfied for the money I have into it. Down the road who knows.
Good luck on your search............

No way 18 way too much. Parts getting too hard to find for the C-4s if you want a low miles C-4 you keep looking and get a more rare one for less or same money ...Low miles good ..But how long you going to drive the ride I drive mine about 3-4,000 a year a that rate you would be 100 before you had any miles on it. Parts getting hard to find and very hard to find anybody to work on one ..Your just buying miles ..Good luck... I have just finished a 96 nice ride but I don't think I will do it agean I have $14,000 in this one(I Did all the work ) I could get 10-12 maybe ..It's like new in and out ..Keep looking....
Low miles C-4s are hard to find .. I would look at it but if you just want a low miles C-4 .I would not give over 14 you'll have an low mikes C-4 but that's all you'll have ..Have you been looking long .. People will ask anything you can offer anything.. It's art of the deal.... I can ask 18,000 for mine and is worth it can I get it????
Funny story .About 7-8 years back I was looking for a C-4 had $20,000 to spend..Found one VERY low mikes I think 14-16,000 low was asking 18,000 lowerd to 16,000 ..His mother bought it for him as a present finished school good boy..Two weeks latter found out his girl frend was going to have a baby..Sell the car!!! I said I would give 12 he got mad said the vett was worth lot's more .. Slamed down the phone ..Guess who called two weeks later : Do you want the vett I will take the $12,000 for it ..Just brought one 26,000 miles for a 95 $13,000 Black ZO-7 Have it now can be sean on my site.. Art of the deal .. The 95 another story was asking $18,000 for that one.....
If you are going to invest 15K for a regular corvette, maybe consider a ZR1, at least then it's not the run of the mill, and you definitely made a special purchase.
It's your money, do what you want, but if in the same boat no question the only C4 would be a ZR1 or a maybe an insanely modified c4.
Low miles run of the mill nothing special year is up to you.
I guess I am one of the guys mentioned in an earlier post. I know it's easy to get sights set on a car, but the money is your's and the options are many with 15K.
The difference between 95 c4 and C4 ZR1 will always be huge in every aspect.

Paid 14000 for a super clean 95 in January with 49000 miles.
Sometimes real low miles can create other mechanical issues.
If as he says 14000 to 15000 would be reasonable in this area
of the country
Yes the black one is very nice 75,000 miles and $15,000 sometimes you just got to have that one been there done that...Don't do it... Buy the ZR-1 ... Good luck
A good C-4 driver there going for low miles 40-60,000 a good one no junk 12-14 I would not give more than that.. One thing you have to think about ...HOW much will the INS. pay you if a big truck takes it out... 14 for any C-4 is high for the INS to pay low miles or not and @ 14 better be under 40 or you will get 10-11 maybe ..How do I know that just went through it on a 95 36,000 miles very nice vette all I could do to get anything for it..
he's asking 18 because he thinks it's a collector with those few a miles. And it may be to someone who money isn't an object., But to someone wanting just a driver/show or whatever, it's worth somewhere between 12 to 15.
To me miles mean something. but that's just me. And here I go, for 12 to 15 you can get into a C5 with not a whole lot of miles, if you like C5s.
I have had low miles vetts ..If you just park it fine guess what when you drive it after a wile miles start to add up then no more low miles vette ..If that's what you want go for it if you are going to drive it can't have low miles and drive it .I tryed it once didn't work out.. I liked to drive it and next thing bunch miles o-well had fun . You can drive one a long time if start out with low miles..My 95 has 43,000 I drive it some nice ride.. It's nice to jump in one that is low miles and in good shape I have fun in the 95 I know it's a nice car . Getting there and back Priceless...and looking good doing it a wax and buff not priceless...
At Mecum Indy, I saw a 2003 50th Anniversary C5, with 33 miles (not 33K, 33 miles!). So you have a guy who wanted a paperweight, didn't drive it and hoped it would pick up value. Fast forward 8 years and it sold for $31K! The MSRP was about $50K and add tax, etc, take some for a 'deal' and the original owner had to get soaked for about $20K or so...
