Head lights

My headlights are only opening half way, can anyone diagnose what this could be? And on a 89 vette are the still vacauum like my 81?

The headlights are not vacuum but gear driven. Both headlights come halfway open and stop? No grinding noises from them?

Most likely the bushings in the drive have gone bad. Happens to ALL 89-96 Vettes! A fairly easy repair-about 45 minutes per unit.

I used bushings from my local Ace Hardware-six for $1.50. Others have used Home Depot (part number used to be 3069987278) or Ford power window mechanism bushings (Advance Auto "HELP" section.

The nominal size I have scribbled down was 27/64 by 29/64. Which is length vs. diameter I don't recall.

I can't beleive to fix the problem was as simple as a little lube.
