just wanted to tell everybody. today was the first nice day in the pacific northwest for quite awhile. we have set records for cold in spokane all spring long. took the top off of my 85 for the first time and went for a cruise. cranked the oldies on the radio. just passed 20k on the odometer and man i am so happy i bought this car. man o man i will not be the richest guy in the graveyard. it was so cool. passed 2 c5s goiing the other way and got a wave from both. stopped and got gas and got 2 hey nice ride compliments from total strangers. on the way back a bmw z4 came up to me and gassed it then came back and nodded his head at me. man i smoked his ***. went from 64 to 105 in a heart beat. and dusted his butt baaaad. i let off and he gave me a thumbs up when he got back to me. man o man i did go thru a little buyers remorse because the car isnt anything i would drive across the country in but man o man its nice to actually feel the road in a true road car. god i love this car. caught crap from friends when i bought it. but now i realize hey nomatter what. ITS A CORVETTE man o man god bless american muscle.
Dave,
I agree with you 100%, there is nothing like American Muscle but.....be careful picking on those Z4's. Ours will be delivered in July with just over 300HP and 300FtLbs at the rear wheels STOCK. A few electronic mods gets it to 380+ HP. I was just blown away when I learned this. 2010 was the changeover point for Z4 HP.
My '90 still has more torque and that is what counts down low.
We have a stock 1992 coupe, a slightly modded 2002 Z06 and a stock 2000 BMW M roadster. While the BMW is only 240 HP it will out accelerate the 1992 Corvette with a good driver in each. An M roadster is the limited production, high performance Motorsport version of a Z3. The 2001-2002 versions have 315 HP. To the uninitiated it looks like a Z3, but is much quicker. However, it will not keep up with a C5 Z06.
This thread makes me want to run home, grab the 'Vette and hit the highway! Man o man, I'd stop and have an IPA somewhere and hit the ground running! IBTL!
Yesterday afternoon, I came off a 270* ramp onto the turnpike. There was another onramp about 1/4 mile ahead that's usually crowded so I jetted over to the passing lane to get clear of a minivan. I slowed down, moved into the right lane and saw in my rear view a white Charger rapidly sharking toward me through traffic. My BP went up a little since the local constabulary have the same car. A few miles further west. I saw it was a civilian hemi. He eyeballed as he came next to me but I had to exit.

Having a car that challenges other people manhood just by existing is kind of cool.
"Having a car that challenges other people manhood just by existing is kind of cool." I've never really looked it at that way, as much as the OP 'wanting to play' (which I've been guilty of myself!)
