Default Anyone seen these before?

I picked these up last night from a gentleman that said they came on his late 80's Greenwood Corvette. I thought he said the car was an '88 but the offset of the wheels has me thinking it was an 84-87 year Vette instead. I know that 88-96 Vette rims have the same offset as a 4x4 S-10 and fit near perfect on 4x4 S-10's. These however stick out a little past the fender which leads me to believe that they are a smaller offset similiar to the 84-87 Vettes. Basically what I know is they are American Racing 17x9.5 2pc wheels. I should have looked for the offset before I mounted them but I didn't think it was gonna be an issue. I looked all over the web and see all kinds of 16" mesh wheels and 17" BBS mesh wheels, but not these. Has anyone else ever seen these before?

I have an 87 with that style but from a different maker, there are a few others here that have and use that style but from different makers, mine are 17x10, 17,11. without knowing the back spacing these folks wont be able to assist alot. it was a popular style back in the 80's. I have heard that 84-87 stock vette wheels are a good fit on S10"s. if you arent happy with them, you may be able to sell them on here or other sites that have a bunch of old guys ,hangin out'. hope this helps

Yeah, I think they are BBS repos made by American Racing. On these, the lip is flat unlike the ones on the BBS wheels. My lips don't slant towards the center section. I like the wheels alot, but it bums me out they didn't fit right.

Thanks! I'm sure you guys know that Vette wheels are a prefered wheel amongst the Sy/Ty crowd because they bolt right up, and if you get the 11" rears, you don't even need to run spacers. I had a set of 94 ZR-1's on there prior to these, but it looks like i'm gonna have to put those back on it.

I'll keep that in mind! I'm gonna try them on my GN tonight and see if they fit that since they are close to a 2wd offset. If they don't fit that, then i'll sell them.

Very cool! I've always wanted a syclone or typhoon. So do you need the ZR1 rear offset, or the Grand Sport offset? Just in case I'm able to add one to the stable down the road.

I've had both and both look good on these trucks. My GS wheels (picture in my avatar) had the 56 mm (or whatever it was) offset and it was litterally an inch or so away from the rear leaf springs but was almost flush with the rear cladding. The zr-1's I had on there as of yesterday are the 36mm and those stick out just a hair past the cladding, but they cleared the rear leafs and fender wells better than the 56mm did.

BTW- the gray one in my avatar is for sale if your interested!! ***shameless plug to throw this thread offtopic*** LOL

Yes, google "BBS RS". Real classics. These wheels were produced from 1983 till 1995.

These wheels remind me of the 80's Riken wheels on the early C4's. Damn sharp.

sy-1177: Sorry, I didn't read your posting properly. Try "American Racing 398" or "ARE 398".

I thought about painting the centers on these black until I realized they didn't fit right. So i'm just going to sell them and try and recoup some of my money.

If anybody has a set in the 88+ offset, i'd be more than willing to work out a trade!!
