Best place under hood to find switched ignition wire
Anyone have any suggestions where the best switched ignition wire under the hood is? I need to hook up my Derale fan relay to a switched scource. Right now it is hooked up to an always on wire and the relay stayed on and ran the battery down. Tks

The relay is controlling the fan. Didn't like the factory setup so added the relay and rad probe to turn at about 195. Keeps the car cooler in traffic. I'm just looking for a wire that has 12v when the ignition is on.

This. You dont need to use the original relay, or the original wire that signals the relay to turn the fan on, just find where the stock relay is, find the blue wire at it's socket. That's a hot-in-run 3amp circuit made to power a relay.
Or I imagine you could use your stock relay and fan wiring, just disconnect the green signal wire, and hook your new controller's on-signal in to the relay where the green wire was.
