Tuned port issues on a 85 I bought of EBAY. When its cold it fires right up but after driving it it becomes hard to start. Cranks fine but it seems to be trying to start against too much fuel or something. Its a decent car with 104,385 documented miles. Runs awesome just has that start issue. I also checked the fuel cap and there was lots of pressure built up in the tank, any problem with that? Thanks for the advice Corvette friends ! Allen
Take a voltmeter set it to ohms. remove the electrical connections from the injectors (after it warms up obviously) connect meter to two terminal on each injector. they should ohm at about 16-17 if any are off my 2 or more than replace.
Is your "check engine" light on??? If so, the computer has stored an error code what might be related to your problem. Another area to look at is the EGR.
hello, lots of great advice on this forum. i had various starting issues with my 85.
here is what helped me...i pulled my plugs a hour or two after shutdown and noted that i had a couple wet with fuel.... so i switched out the injectors. the other piece of my fuel pressure loss was a ruptured pulsator which i replaced with a short piece of fuel line- (in the tank, just upstream of the fuel pump). - took me forever and a day to diagnose the pulsator piece. good luck
