Purchase new windshield, front pillar and targa top side weatherstripping from Ekclers, Had bodyshop install, The body shop said WS was poor quality but had mine in the garbage can so I told them to install anyway. I have leaks where the roof panel meets the windshield pillar in the corner. Trying to adust window to help. Any suggestions? Ecklers won't help with a return so I'm stuck with this. Dont buy the cheaper or even middle grade latex weatherstrip it sucks!
Is there a dry C4 out there in the real world ?!?!
I fixed my weatherstripping myself and the first time I had the same leak. Right at the corner where the window, roof and A pillar meet. So I used the same method to fix that to and now it's fine even in heavy rain.
I used black rubber type window sealant to fix the weatherstripping. I just put some on the parts where it was cracked or leaking and shaped it with with a solvent to make it the right shape.
I'm with Jason, what's the best source and im looking for a complete set
i think the window seals comes apart but all the rest is just one set
thanks !
I bought from wilcox, excellent fit , no leaks, good price, always has a sale of some sort going on on this site, always guick to answer emails and questions. The complaints I've seen on here mostly had to do with the buyer not communicating with them or buyer inexperience with installation, they have excellent directions for installing on their website. hope this helps.

Actually, Ecklers gets most of the CServ complaints of any vendor. Add this thread to that category.
swiftvetc4: I recommend that the OP find out the vendor for their new WS. Contact that vendor directly. Point them to this thread about your dissatisfaction. Post pictures too. If it's a manufacturing (vs installation) error, I bet you get some action. (If it was Willcox, they'd get the vendor to stand up and/or provide a replacement on their own dime. That's why they are the better retailer.)

Buy it from Willcox. Never look back. Great fit and reasonable price.
I put all the ebay weatherstrip on my 85 during a paintjob and it leaked badly. Yanked it all off and spent almost 900 bucks on new GM weatherstrip for most of the car. Then spent hours adjusting the targa top and side windows per FSM recommendations. It still leaks somewhat. I solved it with a 'california pop top" tyvek cockpit glass cover that slips on in about 30 seconds...keeps out most water and also keeps out sun from the interior.
and i spent around two thousand dollars on genuine GM weatherstrips and seals for my vette and the Willcox set is so cheap
I wish i had known this site back then

- my son bought a set from willcox, and we installed in on his 85. no major issues, and everything seemed to fit OK. we took our time and fit each piece, paying careful attention to detail. this is one area where you can not rush the job.

Mind me asking how much the bodyshop charged to install? I need to do mine and while I'm a pretty good weekend mechanic, I'm thinking maybe just leave it to the pro's.

Take your time, be meticulous....it will save you time in the long run. It's not brain surgery, it's just time consuming.
