Default Intermittent miss

I have a miss
Usually when cold under light to medium acceleration.
No codes
I pulled the plugs to make sure they were ok (only 2K old)
What should I try first?
It could probably use everything.
Fuel filter is 8 years old (24k miles)
Wires, cap, and rotor are probably about that too

i had a slight miss this year after the car sat all winter. I filled up with premium and added some ethanol treatment/fuel system cleaner. After a 3 hour ride to the Adirondacks, the car rides a lot smoother.
BTW, those speaker grill covers you sold me look great

I would clean inside dist cap, unless it shows wear. clean plug wires of oil, be sure #5 and 7 are not lying on one another. my 91 may have original wires and cap far as I know. I replaced rotor but it was good as the old one. has never had a miss, in four years.

if someone ever punctured the spark wires or plug caps to set timing the HEI spark can run to ground. if you watch it at dark you should see it. one injector not firing can cause miss also. two of my wires had rubbed against a bracket behind dist, but not serious. I repositioned and taped them with elec tape.

probably not timing related, but don't be surprised to find yours retarded, due to ignorance about how to set it.

Sorry. I thought you were going to post about an occasional cross-dresser.
