Default Another headlight question

Hi everyone
I am new here and new to Vettes as well, my headlight motors continue to run for about 5 seconds after the headlight bucket is seated in the open or closed position. Is this normal? Thank you in advance for your help.

common, not normal. the plastic bushings inside the motor gearbox need replacing. not hard to do, but you'd have to be informed. the bushings are supposedly available several places, even home depot. from about $4 to $10 total.

if you decide to do it yourself, there is plenty of info here, maybe a sticky above. give car year also.

Default Fairly easy to fix

I just did the bushings on my 1992. It was not too difficult. Do a search for "headlight bushings" or something similar and some very informational threads will show up with step by step directions. I would recommend you get the solid bushings, not the ones with a hole in the center. It takes 3 bushings for each headlight.
