mine will read real high... when going down hill and coasting to stay under the speed limit.
but still i have had it read 60+ doing that. kinda of funny actually.

I'm talking ... 96mpg with 60% throttle at 80mph! lol!!
It won't go into triple digits. I got mine to 99 and it stayed there for a long time when I was gaining speed down a steep hill without using the gas. :seeya
What are driving, one of those 3 cylinder Geos??? I thought you had a vette.
I don't know about the Geo's, but the European only VW Lupo reportedly gets 89mpg (new generation diesel).
OK I have a question about FI. When cruising down a hill with no throttle, or decelerating and any other no load while moving conditions, does the fuel injection stop delivering fuel altogether? Is this common among all fuel injection systems?

It's still delivering fuel. It has to keep your car at idle (with clutch in) or it has to keep your car at the rpms you're decelerating through (clutch). The reason you get 99mpg instantly is because you're going 90mph (or something) and you're using just enough fuel to keep the engine running.

I understand what you're saying, but coasting in gear down a hill (no load) will produce enough momentum to turn the engine with no fuel. I notice on my 84 when I blip the throttle by hand with the air filter assembly off, when the rpms start to drop, it seems like the injectors stop pumping till it gets near idle speed, then they start up again. I figured this is one of the ways FI manages to get better fuel economy and more power over a similar engine equipped with a carb. Maybe this is exclusive to TBI?
