Cargo area tie-down ideas?
About third on my priority fix-up list is new carpeting. While that's being done I wonder: is there some way to put some cargo tie downs in the back?
I don't like having stuff flying around when I hit the brakes or maneuver. (Once had a set of bocce ***** get loose in my van while driving down a very twisty mountain road---try stopping with a bocce ball between your break pedal and firewall!) Any other car I secure stuff with the rear seat belts.
So far I haven't had anything more exciting than my car cover come rolling forward. If there were a few eyelets, like in the back of my Astro van, I could use bungees or a net to secure the stuff I carry regularly---car cover, car brush, banjo/fiddle, satchel with music in it, etc.
Ideas?
The stuff that I need to have in the car (first aid, yellow vest, safety triangle) I put in a box with velcro and it doesno't move at all.
Hope you find a good solution and I'll be interested to see what you figure out.
Best regards

There are three tie-down spots, 1 directly behind the center console between the seats and 1 behind each rear speaker.

I was going to velcro a little vynal drink cooler to the carpet side to keep it from sliding around, but 'no traction' from the velcro I tried. Strange that velcro sticks to everything in my other cars but not to the cargo carpet in the Vette!
